About Gold Soul Midwifery

Meet the Midwife

Hello! I’m so happy you’ve found me. I love being a midwife, it’s a deep part of who I am. Since I was very young, I’ve had a unique love and wonder for babies and families. Serving families as a midwife is my dream job, my calling, and there is nothing I’d rather spend my days (and nights) doing.

I’ve devoted over a decade of my life to birth work. I’ve been privileged to walk with hundreds of families on parts of their special journeys in hospitals, birth centers, and home births. It’s through these years of experience that I’ve grown my passions by seeing how much work there is to do to improve the lives of families.

My journey into birth work started after the birth of my first daughter, when I felt an internal pull towards being a midwife and walking alongside families during their journey into parenthood. I was captivated by a profession that empowers mothers to find their own voice and make informed decisions during childbirth and the unique care a midwife provides. After witnessing my first home birth with a midwife there was no turning back!

I’m a mama to four lovely humans, one whose birth forever changed the trajectory of my career path, and three others which were born at home in water with midwives. I’m also a wife to my soul mate and best friend. In between catching babies, I adore spending time chasing my barefoot kiddos, dancing to live music, traveling, family dinners around the table, connecting to mother nature, and absorbing all things natural living, birth, and the creation of community, support, and empowerment of families from all walks of life. Originally from Oklahoma, I now live in beautiful La Mirada with my family where I am incredibly blessed to share the gift of midwifery with Southern California families.

My job as a midwife is to nurture the natural process of pregnancy and birth, and to continually evaluate when birth is normal and remaining low-risk, and when a higher-risk situation is developing. Birth is an amazing and powerful process, demanding a healthy respect and awe.

I look forward to meeting you and your family!

My independent midwifery practice is based out of Brea, California. I serve the surrounding area with up to a 1 hour radius. I offer well-woman care, complete prenatal care, lab-work, waterbirth services, monitrice (advanced doula care) and extensive postpartum care.

I am licensed by the Medical Board of California and certified by the North American Registry of Midwives. I graduated from Nizhoni Institute of Midwifery. I also support families as a Certified HypnoBirthing Childbirth Educator, Certified Lactation Counselor and Educator, Certified Reiki Master, Certified Hypnotist, and Certified Placenta Encapsulator. After graduating from Nizhoni Institute of Midwifery, I embarked on a new journey and Gold Soul Midwifery was born.

I frequently attend continuing education workshops on many midwifery topics, including birth complications, management of varying fetal birth presentations, evidence-based birth practices, and improved management techniques for postpartum support for families. Midwifery is an ongoing learning process with new and better practice techniques always ready to be discovered.

My Promise

Gold Soul Midwifery exists to serve and empower families, providing quality holistic well person, preconception, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care. I am honored to provide unprejudiced care for all families regardless of background, identity, religion, race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, or family dynamics. I strive to not only fill in the gaps of traditional care, but to improve the quality of care by prioritizing education, shared decision making, extended postpartum care, and integrated community referrals and resources.

The guiding principles of our work as Midwives are; continuity of care, evidenced based decision making, appropriate use of technology, culturally appropriate care, education, trust in our clients and an abiding trust in birth. When pregnant people’s voices are heard, when they receive the education and resources they seek, when they can bring their dynamic spiritual-emotional-psychological selves and when they are attended by a skilled and supportive professional, the likelihood of an empowered birth experience is most possible.
